Procurement Policy Note 14/15: supporting apprenticeships and skills through public procurement

This procurement policy note provides guidance on supporting apprenticeships and skills through government buying.

Increasing the skills of the UK workforce is important to sustainable growth. This is why the government has committed to create 3 million apprenticeships over the next 5 years.

Public procurement of contracts worth £10 million or more, which last 12 months or longer, should support skills development and the apprenticeship commitment.

This procurement policy note applies from 1 September 2015 and replaces Policy Procurement Note 06/15. It applies to central government departments, their agencies and non-departmental public bodies.
