Prax Refinery Training Guarantee: privacy notice

This notice sets out how we will process your personal data, and your information rights. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
This Privacy Notice outlines how the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) will collect, use, store and protect your personal data in relation to the Company’s liquidation and the provision of training and support by DN Colleges to assist Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery (PLOR) employees in finding new employment.
1. Your data
We will process the following personal data:
- identification and contact data: name, address, personal email, phone number
- employment data: current and past job title, department, employment status (in relation to the liquidation), training history, skills, qualifications, career aspirations
- training and support records: details of training courses undertaken, certifications, attendance, progress, and interactions with career support services provided by DN Colleges
- re-employment progress data: Information related to your job search, applications, interviews, and outcomes (where shared with us for the purpose of support)
2. Purpose
The purpose(s) for which we are processing your personal data is:
- operating communications and infrastructure relevant to the support services
- managing complaints and investigations where the incident or substance requires input from DESNZ
- maintaining necessary administrative and audit records
- to monitor the progress and operational delivery of the scheme
- for evaluation of the scheme to understand its impact and to inform future government policy
3. Legal basis of processing
The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR is:
1(a)Public task: Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller. As the funder for training opportunities delivered by DN Colleges Group, DESNZ has a Public Task to ensure accountability and quality assurance for the training provided.
4. Recipients
Your personal data may be shared by us with:
- official partners responsible for supporting monitoring and evaluation
As part of our IT infrastructure, your personal data will be stored in the UK on systems provided by our data processors - Microsoft and Amazon Web Services. This does not mean we actively share your personal data with these entities; rather, they are technical service providers who host infrastructure supporting our IT systems.
5. Retention
Your personal data will be kept by us for the duration of your active engagement with the re-employment support and training programmes, and for a reasonable period thereafter to facilitate any follow-up or audit requirements related to the support provided.
6. Your rights
You have the right to request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data.
You have the right to request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay.
You have the right to request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement.
You have the right to request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed.
You have the right in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted.
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes.
