Details

This assessment aims to:

  • allow Parliament to assess whether legislation is working as intended
  • contribute to better regulation
  • improve focus upon implementation and delivery
  • identify and disseminate best practice

It notes the original objectives of the Marine Navigation Act 2013 and assesses whether these have been met using evidence provided by stakeholders.

The Department of Transport is required to provide the Transport Select Committee with an initial assessment of the Act 5 years after Royal Assent.
