Post-16 capacity fund for 2023 to 2024

How eligible providers of 16 to 19 education can apply for capital investment to accommodate upcoming demographic increases in 16- to 19-year-olds.

     'Post-16 capacity fund for 2023 to 2024: guidance for applicants' has been updated to revise the advice for 16-19 only academies in section 7.3.

  2. 6 October 2022

     'Post-16 capacity fund 2023 to 2024: guidance for applicants' updated to include further information on ‘How to apply’ in section 5.1. The registration deadline for Jaggaer, the application portal, has been extended.

     The next round of the fund has launched. The page explains who can apply for funding and how. We have uploaded new guidance for applicants and a breakdown of population projections by local authority district, which will support bids for funding.

The guidance for applicants explains how eligible sixth form colleges, further education colleges, 16 to 19 academies, free schools and local authority-maintained schools with sixth forms could apply for the post-16 capacity fund.

The deadline to apply for the most recent round of funding passed in November 2022.
