Details

The Planning and Infrastructure Act 2025 introduced measures to reform planning committees in England.

The measures include a national scheme of delegation for planning functions and a cap on the size of planning committees, the details of which are set out in The Town and Country Planning (Discharge of Local Planning Authority Functions) (England) Regulations 2026.

Local planning authorities must have regard to this statutory guidance in making and operating arrangements under the regulations.
