  1. Updated the prospectus to announce that places can submit their Regeneration Plans, and included a link to the Regeneration Plan guidance pages.

  2. Pre-approved interventions document updated with additional example intervention.

  3. Added list of powers for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

  4. Welsh translation of the Plan for Neighbourhoods prospectus added.

  5. Updated the prospectus to include a link to the 'governance and boundary guidance' which was published on 12 March 2025.

  6. Updated 'Eligible local authorities' to correct regions for Barry, Cwmbrân, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhyl and Wrexham.

The Plan for Neighbourhoods programme was renamed Pride in Place Programme on 25 September 2025. The guidance for the 75 previously announced Plan for Neighbourhoods locations will be updated to reflect the renaming of the programme. Boards should continue to prepare to submit their Regeneration Plans by 28 November 2025. ​

​​The prospectus sets out the principles and objectives of the government’s new Plan for Neighbourhoods​.

This programme means that nowhere is left behind as this government delivers on its missions, empowering local people across the UK with a long-term, flexible funding pot to invest in their priorities. Investment should seek to revitalise areas by building thriving places, creating stronger communities, and empowering people to take back control. 

Alongside the prospectus we have published a list of pre-approved interventions and policy toolkit that outlines the existing powers available to communities and local authorities.
