Paper from PHE on enhanced surveillance of household contacts. This paper was available for participants to read at SAGE 49 on 30 July 2020, but not considered or discussed in the meeting. The paper is the assessment of the evidence at the time of writing. As new evidence or data emerges, SAGE updates its advice accordingly.

This paper is an interim analysis of the findings, and the final version Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in the household setting: A prospective cohort study in children and adults in England was published on pubmed.gov on 1 August 2021.

These documents are released as pre-print publications that have provided the government with rapid evidence during an emergency. These documents have not been peer-reviewed and there is no restriction on authors submitting and publishing this evidence in peer-reviewed journals.
