The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy appointed Professor Derek Bunn to conduct an independent peer review of the methodological approach taken by BEIS between 2018 and 2019 to update cost assumptions onshore wind, offshore wind and solar photovoltaics.
Note that this report refers to ‘BEIS Generation Costs (2018)’ as a baseline for the review – this was a precursor to BEIS Electricity Generation Costs (2020) detailing generation cost estimates at the time (2018). This report was not published, but its contents have been incorporated into the 2020 report.
