The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Mick George Limited.

This is a bespoke application for a new inert landfill within a sand, gravel and aggregates quarry. Under the proposals, 800,000m3 of inert waste will be deposited at the site to enable restoration of the quarry. When using a bulk conversion factor of 1.6 tonnes/m3 this equates to 1,280,000 tonnes. It is proposed that approximately 250,000m3 (or 400,000 tonnes) of material would be imported to the site per annum.
