Details

Chancel repair liability is a liability on some property owners in England and Wales to fund repairs to the chancel of their local Anglican parish church.

Trustees of Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) needed to check if there was liability in the parish and consider whether to register that interest in chancel repair liability relating to land with the Land Registry by 12 October 2013.

This guidance sets out how the Charity Commission deals with queries about chancel repair liability.
