Details

We are setting out our proposals to ensure a thriving veterinary sector. This paper also sets out the government’s response to our consultation on reform of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, and to the Competition and Markets Authority’s market investigation into the veterinary sector for household pets.

To deliver a thriving veterinary sector, we need legislation that is modern and fit for purpose. These proposals will support that aim, where the health and welfare of animals and public health are placed at the heart of everything the veterinary sector does.
