Other animal products: model health certificates

Competent authorities of exporting countries should use the relevant model health certificate as a template to create a version exporters can apply for to export other animal products to Great Britain, the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

  1. 30 April 2024

     All old versions of certificates have been removed.

  2. 31 August 2023

     We have updated certificates GBHC450, GBHX451, GBHC452, GBHC453, GBHC454, GBHC455 and GBHC456. We have also updated the ‘use from’ date for certificates GBHC450, GBHC451, GBHC452, GBHC453, GBHC454, GBHC455 and GBHC456. Use from date for EU changed to 31 January 2024. Use from date for non-EU countries changed to 30 April 2024.

  3. 28 April 2023

     We have replaced all EU certificates ending in E with new certificates that can be used by all countries. EU countries must use the new certificates from 31 October 2023. Non-EU countries can continue using certificates ending in X or start using the new certificates. We will communicate the deadline for non-EU countries switching to the new certificates in due course.

     Updated certificates GBHC108E, GBHC108E/SM and GBHC108X. See version history for full details of the changes.

  5. 24 October 2022

     Certificates GBHC083E, GBHC108E, GBHC113E, GBHC148E, GBHC149E, GBHC151E and GBHC152E should be used from 31 December 2023.

  6. 1 May 2022

     We've updated certificates GBHC083X, GBHC108X, GBHC113X, GBHC148X, GBHC149X, GBHC151X and GBHC152X.

  7. 23 February 2022

     The following certificates will come into use on 1 November 2022: GBHC083E, GBHC108E, GBHC113E, GBHC148E, GBHC149E, GBHC151E and GBHC152E.

  8. 17 December 2021

     Updated model health certificates GBHC108E, GBHC108E-SM and GBHC108X.

     Added model health certificate GBHC191 to this page - previously on the 'blood products: model health certificates' page. Added model health certificate GBHC192 to this page - previously on the 'fats: model health certificates' page.

Certificate GBHC450

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for the import of honey, royal jelly and other apiculture products 2074/2005 (2016/759) (HON)

Certificate GBHC451

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for placing on the market of rendered animal fats and greaves intended for human consumption (Regulation 2019/628) (RFG).

Certificate GBHC452

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for placing on the market of highly refined chondroitin sulphate, hyaluronic acid, other hydrolysed cartilage products, chitosan, glucosamine, rennet, isinglass and amino acids intended for human consumption (Regulation 2019/628) (HRP).

Certificate GBHC453

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for frogs’ legs 2019/628 (FRG).

Certificate GBHC454

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for placing on the market of chilled, frozen, shelled, cooked, prepared, or preserved snails intended for human consumption (SNS).

Certificate GBHC455

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for insects for human consumption (INS).

Certificate GBHC456

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for other products of animal origin intended for human consumption not covered by Articles 7 to 25 of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/628 (OPAO).

Certificate GBHC189

Use this certificate from 21 June 2021.

Model health certificate for processed bones and bone products from New Zealand.

Certificate GBHC190

Use this certificate from 21 June 2021.

Model health certificate for processed animal protein from New Zealand.

Certificate GBHC191

Use this certificate from 21 June 2021.

Model health certificate for blood and blood products from New Zealand.

Certificate GBHC192

Use this certificate from 21 June 2021.

Model health certificate for lard and rendered fats from New Zealand.

Certificate GBHC193

Use this certificate from 21 June 2021.

Model health certificate for treated stomachs and bladders from New Zealand.
