Integrity policy for statistical publications

Updated 8 March 2023

Applies to England

To enable Ofqual to perform its duties, information collected and reported has to be accurate, timely and informative. The whole process is overseen by the Code of Practice for Official Statistics, which is drawn up and enforced by the UK Statistics Authority.

The code is based upon three pillars – trustworthiness, quality and value. The pillars are further divided into various principles. The principle of honesty and integrity (part of trustworthiness) requires that:

People in organisations that release statistics should be truthful, impartial and independent, and meet consistent standards of behaviour that reflect the wider public good.

Please see more information on the principle T1: Honesty and integrity.

Ofqual fully abides by all aspects of the principles within the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
