DESNZ commissioned Grant Thornton and BVG Associates (BVGA) to conduct a peer review of the offshore wind research conducted by Arup, in line with the department’s policy to peer review key findings.

This peer review assessed and provided assurances regarding the robustness of:

• the overarching methodology
• outputs from amalgamated survey data against BVGA in-house benchmarks
• filter criteria and filter option selected
• literature review

It also includes several recommendations for changes to be made following the 2024 Arup commission.
