This is the response to a request for information seeking the number of rateable properties (hereditaments) and the total floor area for all non-domestic premises in England and Wales broken down by special category and region.

The following tables set out the number of rateable properties (hereditaments) and floorspace by Special Category for each of the English regions and Wales, as at 31 March 2012. These figures provide a further breakdown of the floorspace figures published on 17 May 2012.
