Published 21 August 2018
The next cyber export control seminar from the export control joint Unit (ECJU) and national cyber security centre (NCSC) will take place on 21 November 2018 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel, London.
We plan to include explanations on the following topics:
- category 5 part II ‘information security’ controls and decontrols based on the Wassenaar Arrangement
- category 5 part I surveillance
- category 4 intrusion aspects
- forthcoming and recent changes to the controls
- transfer and storage of technology/software overseas (sometimes referred to as ‘cloud computing’)
Pre-course survey
ECJU recognises that there are questions many exporters have concerning strategic controls, ‘cyber’ and ‘information security’. So please help us to shape this course by completing our pre-course survey (link below). Doing so will help us to understand your background and experience. We will also be able to anticipate and research your questions.
Pre-course knowledge
You should have already completed training on licences and strategic export controls generally before attending this course as there will be only a brief review of the licensing process. If you need to refresh your knowledge of licences or legislation please see our training bulletin for details of our other materials and courses.
Attendees should also be familiar with the current Category 4 and 5 Lists of the Wassenaar Arrangement’s dual-use goods and technologies.
We anticipate high demand for this event. Attendance will be restricted to:
- 2 persons per exporting company (or entity)
- 1 person per consultant/legal company in the first instance, with a reserve list for extra places, if available
To register for this event, please complete the event registration form attached to the latest export control training bulletin.
