When you apply for an environmental permit for an operation in England, you must consider the potential risk of noise and vibration associated with this.

This guidance and the noise advisory tool is to help you work out:

  • whether to submit a noise and vibration impact assessment and noise and vibration management plan as part of your environmental permit application
  • what the Environment Agency needs from you before you apply for a permit
  • how to pay the right fees and include all the supporting information needed – to help prevent your application being sent back to you

You should also check the main guidance in noise and vibration management: environmental permits.
