The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from GRS (Roadstone) Limited.

The proposed variation changes a standard rules permit into a bespoke permit.

The application is to vary a Standard Rules 2009 No 6 inert and excavation waste transfer station with treatment below 250,000 tonnes per annum, to a bespoke equivalent where the wastes and treatment will stay the same except for the addition of EWC code 19 12 12 Other wastes limited to processed Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate which complies with BS 13242 only. This waste will be accepted and blended with other waste and non-waste materials to produce a material suitable for use in Regulatory Position Statement 247 up to 200,000 tonnes per year.
