The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Davis Commercial Services Limited.

Regulated facility type

  • Section 5.3 A(1) a)(ii) - Disposal or Recovery of Hazardous Waste with a capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day involving Physico-Chemical Treatment

  • Section 5.6 A(1) a) - Temporary Storage of Hazardous Waste not under S 5.2 Pending Activities Listed in S 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 and Paragraph (B) of this section with a total capacity exceeding 50 tonnes, excluding temporary storage where generated

  • Waste Operation

This is a substantial variation to:

  • Increase annual throughput from 10,000 tonnes to 40,000 tonnes

  • Increase the storage capacity from 1,000 to 10,000 tonnes at any one time

  • Increase the site boundary to include another building for manual dismantling and preparation for re-use

  • Addition of a point source emission to air

  • Addition of activities to Section 5.3, including shredding, density separation, pelletising and granulation

  • Inclusion of 11 new waste codes.
