What personal data’s collected and how it’s used

Natural England uses the information you provide on the lone working registration form to manage its lone and remote working service.

This information will be made available to your elected ‘buddy’, the Natural England Enquiry Service and Peoplesafe, Natural England’s lone worker safety service.

If there’s an incident, your line manager, Natural England volunteer contact or the Natural England Duty Officer (if outside normal office hours) will have access to this information.

The legal basis for processing your personal data is the consent you give on the lone working registration form.

The processing of your data is based on your consent.

Who Natural England shares your personal data with

Natural England shares your information with:

  • Peoplesafe – to administer the lone working technology
  • emergency services – if Peoplesafe or the Natural England incident response staff need to escalate an incident

How long Natural England holds personal data

Natural England will keep your lone working data for 5 years.

What happens if you do not provide the data requested

Natural England will be unable to provide its lone working system.

Use of automated decision-making or profiling

The information you provide is not used for:

  • automated decision making (making a decision by automated means without any human involvement)
  • profiling (automated processing of personal data to evaluate certain things about an individual)

Transfer of data outside the European Economic Area (EEA)

Natural England will not transfer your data outside the EEA.

You have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time.
