The standards set out the full range of essential digital skills that adults need to:
- fully participate in life
- undertake most jobs
- engage in further study
Awarding organisations primarily use the standards to develop essential digital skills qualifications, available for first teaching from August 2020.
The standards are based on the essential digital skills framework.
The standards also inform the development of the subject content for digital functional skills qualifications, available for first teaching from August 2023.
