Details

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) provides the service of the UK’s national reference laboratory (NRL) for food microbiology for the following work areas:

  • Listeria monocytogenes
  • coagulase-positive staphylococci
  • Escherichia coli (including VTEC)
  • campylobacter
  • salmonella
  • antimicrobial resistance

These annual reports summarise the activities of the NRL for food microbiology, covering its 3 core functions:

  • secretariat services
  • advice and representation within the UK and EU
  • method development, audits and ring trials
