Details

You get a certificate when your vehicle passes an MOT. These samples show what it can look like.

If the MOT computer system is not working, the MOT tester will fill in a ‘contingency’ certificate.

You’ll get a different notice if your vehicle fails its MOT.

Check the vehicle’s MOT history if you’re not sure if an MOT certificate is genuine.

There’s a different service if you want to get a replacement MOT certificate if you have lost or damaged the original.
