The Great British Insulation Scheme
This scheme is closed to new applicants.
The Great British Insulation Scheme helped people to get free or cheaper insulation to reduce their home’s energy bills.
If you’ve already applied
If you’re eligible for support, your energy supplier will arrange an assessment of your property.
You’ll find out after the assessment if you need to pay anything towards the installation of the insulation.
You can decide to not go ahead if you do not agree with assessment or costs.
Installations must be complete by 31 March 2026, when the scheme ends.
If you have questions about your existing application, contact the energy supplier you applied to.
Make a complaint
To complain about insulation installed under the scheme, follow the Ofgem energy company obligation complaints guidance.
