Details of the application

The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Intervet UK Limited.

Activities being applied for at the site: • Section 4.5 “Pharmaceutical production”, Part (A) (1) (a). Producing pharmaceutical products (this is the main prescribed activity for the site); and • Section 5.4 “Disposal, recovery or a mix of disposal and recovery of non-hazardous waste”, Part (A) (1) (a). Disposal of non-hazardous waste with a capacity exceeding 50 tonnes per day (or 100 tonnes per day if the only waste treatment activity is anaerobic digestion) involving one or more of the following activities (ii) physico-chemical treatment (this is a technically connected associated activity related to the pH correction / treatment of waste water prior to discharge of up to 300m3 per day to sewer). The operator is applying to vary the current permit to incorporate a revised waste acceptance criteria for waste being imported for disposal at the site.

  • proposed operating techniques, including an assessment of best available techniques
  • management plans to address any key risks
  • modelling and monitoring of any significant emissions to air, land or water

  • raw material usage and measures for energy efficiency and avoiding waste production
