The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Growing Beds Recycling Services Limited.

This is currently permitted as a S5.4(1) (b)(i) composting site which wishes to add a S5.4(A)(1)(a)(iii) pre-treatment for incineration activity for shredding waste wood, an extension to the site boundary and the addition of a new water lagoon. The shredding activity will be a maximum of 19,000 tonnes throughput per annum, with the remaining composting activity being 30,000 tonnes per year.
