The MOD Children and Young People’s Trust Board

The board meets 3 times a year and is chaired by the Adjutant General who has defence wide lead for the safeguarding of service children and young people.The framework and top priorities for the Children and Young People’s Strategy and Improvement Plan 2010 to 2013 were formally agreed at the Trust Board in January 2010.

The governance arrangements for children and young people’s services are set out in the governance framework which was subject to consultation with DCYP’s partners. This document sets out agreed principles for “good” governance. It describes clearly the roles and responsibilities of the members of the Trust Board, and sets out the Board’s purpose and functions. A full list of the Board members is contained in the governance document.

The MOD Safeguarding Board

The safeguarding Board leads on all safeguarding matters in relation to service children and young people. Its key actions and framework are underpinned by the support needed to ensure the safety and well being of our children and young people overseas; identifying the safeguarding risks and monitoring progress against them. The Safeguarding Board keeps the Trust Board informed of high levels risk and reports progress made towards reducing the impact or removing those risks.
