The research looks into the life of a charity and the ‘milestones’ they encounter.

The report gathers information from charities on their milestone events and illustrates best practice and ways of dealing with them. The most common milestones are:

  • establishing themselves as a charity
  • employing staff for the first time
  • making changes to their governing document
  • winding up or changing direction
