Details

The aim of the project is to provide the Environment Agency with an assessment of methane emissions from different categories of UK landfill sites, verified by appropriate field measurements. This assessment will aid the Environment Agency in any appraisal for methane emissions reduction and reduce uncertainties on emissions estimates. The assessment methodology is also applicable for site operators to determine site specific emissions and appropriate remedial works. The study was co-ordinated with related research sponsored by Global Atmosphere Division (GAD) in DOE and performed by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).
