McPartland review of cyber security and economic growth

The government has asked the Rt Hon Stephen McPartland MP to conduct an independent review into cyber security as an enabler of economic growth.

Details

The government sees the potential for cyber security to drive growth across all sectors of our economy. 

Michelle Donelan, the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, and Oliver Dowden, the Deputy Prime Minister, have asked the Rt Hon Stephen McPartland MP to lead an independent review to look at cyber security as an enabler to build trust, resilience and unleash growth across the UK economy.

Cyber security and economic growth: call for views

The call for views closed on Thursday 28 March 2024.

The review complements the government’s existing £2.6 billion National Cyber Strategy to protect and promote the UK online.

The review will report jointly to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology and will be completed in spring 2024. Ministers will then decide on next steps.
