The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from A1 Services (Manchester) Limited.

Regulated facility type

This is a hazardous waste transfer station with additional activities of physical treatment of non-hazardous waste and in this application the addition of a physico-chemical treatment activity for the soil washing plant.

 The core activities are dealing with construction, demolition and excavation waste to produce recycled aggregate products.

 The proposed changes are the addition of a closed water soil washing activity for production of recycled aggregates, increase of the annual throughput to 750,000 tonnes per annum and to extend the site boundary to the west and south
