LRS: privacy notices
Privacy notices tell learners how their qualification data is used if they allow others to see their personal learning record.
How learners can opt-out of sharing their personal learning record (PLR) data
Learners may choose not to share their PLR data and can opt-out:
- as part of the enrolment process with their learning provider.
- by contacting the Learning Records Service (LRS) customer helpdesk on 0345 602 2589. They will need to provide some personal details to confirm their identify, which may include their Unique Learner Number (ULN), if known.
You must ensure you provide a copy of the privacy notice to your learners so they understand how their data is used.
The privacy notices are for those organisations who have a direct relationship with learners. All learners should be given a copy of the privacy notice to ensure they understand how their qualification data is used, and if they choose to allow others to view their PLR.
If you do not have a direct relationship with learners, you must instruct your centres to ensure they provide a copy of the privacy notice to their learners so that they understand how their data is used.
