A connected society: a strategy for tackling loneliness published in October 2018, was the world’s first government strategy developed to tackle loneliness. Marking a shift in the way we see and act on loneliness, it contained 60 new policy commitments from across nine government departments covering work in England, many of which have since been completed.

Emerging together: the Tackling Loneliness Network Action Plan published in May 2021 details the commitments made by the Tackling Loneliness Network as a response to coronavirus (COVID-19).

The third annual report provides an update on the progress made against all ongoing commitments from both publications, and sets out our work over the past year.
