Details

Preparing local nature recovery strategies is a statutory requirement under the Environment Act 2021.

Preparation and delivery will be supported by government but each local nature recovery strategy (LNRS) will be locally-led with public, private and voluntary sectors working together to agree what should be done to recover nature in the area and helping to do it.

This document explains:

  • what local nature recovery strategies are
  • what the strategies will look like
  • how they will be prepared
  • who can be involved
  • how the strategies will be delivered
  • when strategies will be reviewed and updated
