Leeds City Council: application made to impound water

Leeds City Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of Kirkstall Goit, Leeds at National Grid Reference (NGR) SE 26120 35970.
Leeds City Council has also applied for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of Kirkstall Goit, Leeds at NGR SE 26430 35230.
Water will be obstructed or impeded to construct flood defence. Both applications are part of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2
