Details

On 9 August 2023, Natural England submitted a report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs setting out changes to the proposed route of the King Charles III England Coast Path (KCIIIECP) at Luccombe, Shanklin, part of the Isle of Wight stretch.

The opportunity to comment closed at midnight on Wednesday 4 October 2023. You can no longer make a representation or objection on proposals.

Objections were passed to an independent planning inspector who made a recommendation to the Secretary of State about each one.

The Secretary of State considered all representations and objections before making a decision about Natural England’s proposals.

Outcome

On 16 October 2024, the Secretary of State announced their decision to approve this modification report.

On 14 January 2026, the section of the KCIIIECP affected by this report, Culver Down to Binnel Bay (IOW3), opened to the public.
