Details

On 14 May 2025, Natural England submitted a report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs setting out proposed changes to the approved route of the King Charles III England Coast Path at Sutton Hoo and Methersgate in Suffolk, sections of the Felixstowe Ferry to Bawdsey stretch.

The opportunity to comment closed at midnight on Wednesday 9 July 2025. You can no longer make a representation or objection on proposals.

Objections were passed to an independent planning inspector who made a recommendation to the Secretary of State about each one.

The Secretary of State considered all representations and objections before making a decision about Natural England’s proposals.

Outcome

On 19 November 2025, the Secretary of State announced their decision to approve this variation report, which modifies the original proposals.
