Details
On 17 July 2024, Natural England submitted a report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs setting out proposed changes to the approved route of the King Charles III England Coast Path at Dunnerholme Golf Course, Askam-in-Furness in Cumbria. This is a section of the Silecroft to Silverdale stretch.

The opportunity to comment closed at midnight on 11 September 2024. You can no longer make a representation or objection on proposals.
Objections were passed to an independent planning inspector who made a recommendation to the Secretary of State about each one.
The Secretary of State considered all representations and objections before making a decision about Natural England’s proposals.
Outcome
On Friday 14 November 2025, the Secretary of State announced their decision to approve this variation report, which modifies the original proposals.
