Kier Integrated Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Granular Superficial Deposits at National Grid References (NGRs) SY 07133 82994, SY 07340 82179 and SY 07357 82195 near Budleigh Salterton. The water will be transferred to Budleigh Brook at NGRs SY 07078 82963 and SY 07302 82172 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 116.6 cubic metres an hour
- 2,799.4 cubic metres a day
- 510,883.2 cubic metres a year
- For a period of six months in total between 1 February 2022 and 31 January 2023.
Abstraction will take place for the purpose of dewatering during construction associated with the Lower Otter Restoration Project.
