Works within the fluvial floodplain of the Leiston Drain (main river).
Description of activity
The operator seeks to vary an existing permit to include an additional activity of permanent ground raising within the floodplain of a main river. A perimeter bund within the fluvial floodplain of the Leiston Drain will be constructed inside the alignment of the Environmental Sheet Pile Barrier (ESPB) which itself is situated within the Main Construction Area (MCA) of the site. The bund will form the foundations of the MCA northern and western embankments and will be constructed to a minimum height of 1.60mAOD. Construction of the bund to this height will isolate the MCA from the fluvial floodplain ahead of construction works commencing on the main development site working platform.
