The Environment Agency has received a permit variation application under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Sizewell C Limited.

Description of activity
This variation is required to amend the alignment of the security fencing adjacent to the Temporary Sea Defence (TSD) to allow for installation anywhere within the 16-metre buffer of the 5m Dune Sea Defence (Asset ID No. 178292), between grid references TM 47629 64508 to the north and TM 47598 63640 to the south.
In addition, a requirement has been identified to extend the current time limit for the presence of the fencing along the foreshore in front of the Sizewell C site. The exact timeframe for the fence to remain in place is currently unknown but could be required for at least 15 years. Therefore, the operator requests that this activity changes from a temporary to permanent activity to allow for the fencing to remain in place indefinitely until such time it is removed under a new FRAP or FRAP variation.
