Description of activity
A Flood Risk Activity Permit was granted on 21st July 2025 for activities supporting the creation of Fen Meadow habitat within the floodplain of the River Blyth at Halesworth. The works consists of land sculpting (a cut and fill activity) within the floodplain of the main river, temporary storage in the floodplain (site compound, plant, construction materials and soil arisings) and creation of an aggregate track which requires land profiling in the floodplain. This variation request relates to the location of the pre-allocated fill compartments for reusing soils arisings on site, associated soil volumes and the proposed timelines for the activities to take place. The works are now expected to be completed before 31st December 2026.
