The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Sizewell C Limited.

Receiving environment
Works (whether temporary or permanent) within the fluvial floodplain of or within 8 metres of the River Blyth (main river).
Description of activity
Compensatory fen meadow creation within the floodplain of the River Blyth. The works consists of land sculpting in the floodplain of the main river, temporary storage in the floodplain (site compound, plant, construction materials and soil arisings) and
creation of an aggregate track which requires land profiling in the floodplain. The works are expected to be completed between 1st July 2025 and 31st December 2025.
