Works (whether temporary or permanent) in, over or under the River Fromus (main river).
Description of activity
Vegetation clearance and desilting (slubbing) of approximately 910 metres of the River Fromus immediately upstream of the A1094 Road Bridge, Snape Watering. The slubbing will be conducted using a mechanical excavator equipped with a ditching bucket or weed rake.
The objectives of the proposed works are to:
- Improve conveyance of water within the River Fromus
- Manage water levels within the dyke system within the Benhall Fen Meadow site
- Improve conditions within the marshes for cutting and grazing to take place across the wider area.
