The handling note sets out the administrative arrangements the department has put in place to make sure that proper and fair planning decisions can be taken on written requests from other government departments for DLUHC to approve proposals for inland border facilities. These requests are made under Article 4 of the Town and County Planning (Border Facilities and Infrastructure)(EU Exit)(England) Special Development Order 2020. The administrative arrangements concern decisions made by the Department under the same legislation.

The arrangements are consistent with regulation 64(2) the Town and County Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017 (as amended).
