We received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) for information on the Animal Procedures Committee (APC) regarding the following:
1.The number of animals used in experiments.
2. The number of members of the Animal Procedures Committee (APC) holding a license under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
3. How many unannounced visits are made by HO inspectors to licensed establishments?
4. How overseas breeding establishments are vetted to ensure they are acceptable for exporting animals to the UK.
