Details

The independent review of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), led by Dr Richard Judge, sets out recommendations to ensure the regulator is well placed to:

• support rail reform
• support economic growth and investment
• continue to deliver its core regulatory functions

The review was commissioned as part of the government’s Regulation Action Plan, which committed to independent expert performance reviews of key regulators to identify opportunities to improve performance, strengthen accountability and remove barriers to growth.

The government will now work with the ORR to consider the review’s recommendations and next steps.
