The Home Office received 12,145 applications in the period 1 January to 28 February 2013 and 9,615 applications in the period 1 April to 31 May 2013.

The average time taken between an application being received and their biometric information being taken for the specified periods is as follows: 1 August to 31 October 2012 - 40 days; 1 January to 28 February 2013 - 29 days and 1 April to 31 May 2013 - 23 days.

The average time taken between an applicant’s biometric information being taken and the despatch of the decision for the specified periods is as follows: 1 August to 31 October 2012 - 47 days; 1 January to 28 February 2013 - 30 days and 1 April to 31 May 2013 - 24 days.
