This improvement notice was lifted on 1 July 2019 following a re-inspection by Ofsted in which services were judged as requires improvement to be good.

This improvement notice requires Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council to take steps to improve its children’s services. It follows a report by Ofsted, issued on 9 December 2016 which judged the overall effectiveness of children’s services in Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council to be inadequate.
