This guidance is for use by businesses, their advisers and HM Revenue and Customs staff who deal with entities affected by The International Tax Compliance (United States of America) Regulations 2013. It applies to:

  • UK Financial Institutions
  • UK entities that will need to certify their entity ‘classification’ for the purposes of Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)
  • entities that undertake FATCA obligations on behalf of financial institutions
